NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipsticks: Review and Swatches on Dark Skin

This post is a review on the Nyx Cosmetics Liquid Suede Creams, I posted a lipswatch video a while back swatching 4 of the shades but I never actually shared my thoughts on the product so here goes…

According to boots.com, the product is described as below:

Doll up your lips in plush and vibrant color! NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick glides on and sets into a striking matte finish. Velvety soft and waterproof, this long-lasting lippie creates a positively polished look with every swipe.

According to Nyxcosmetics.com the product is described as:

Doll up your lips in plush and vibrant color! Our Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick glides on and sets into a striking matte finish. Now available in 12 more velvety-soft shades, this waterproof lippie creates a positively polished look with every swipe.

Now let us address Boots and Nyx claims; they claim that the suede creams glide on and sets into a matte finish. This unfairunately is not the case, the product does have a creamy, soft and velvety feel but in no way shape or form does it set to a matte finish. I would class the product as a cross between a matte liquid lipstick and a lipgloss. The product is very soft and very opaque, it sits comfortably on the lips and it is very easy to apply. 

Regarding there longevity claim, the product lasts up to 4-6hours if undisturbed…  this means no oily foods, no drinking, kissing… you get the gist. The product shifts so any hope of having a smear free day (if you do any of the above) is a massive fail. Ignorer to get the longest wear out of the product, I suggest that you line your lips fully before applying the product.

Amethyst

The product comes in a standard plastic tube with a doe foot applicator. The doe foot applicator is quite big and a bit flat which helps with easy application of the product. Each tube comes with 0.13fluid oz of product, which is a good amount considering the 6.50pound price tag. All the colours are cruelty free and lasts for 6months before expiring.

Stone Fox

This time around I decided to add two more daring shades to my collection; Amethyst and Stone Fox. I have to say that the color pay off of these products is amazing and the I love how comfortable they feel. They do not tug on the lips, they are easy to apply and take off and they do not have any annoying smell.  I would definitely recommend this proc to anyone who would like an expensive liquid lipstick in their collection. The formulation is great (except that it is not matte as they claim), the color pay off is amazing and the price tag is on point.
